It is so easy to get busy doing ‘stuff’ in your business, and lose sight of what is important work, as opposed to ‘urgent work’. This is where the ‘7 habits’ book by Stephen Covey , mentioned in tip 1 is so important.
There will always be lots of items, particularly in a service-based property business that calls from your time and attention, however, being clear on what are the key tasks that will move your business forward is so critical to spending your days well.
This means working on the areas of your business where you add most value, and delegating the things that are better done by others, and deleting the things that just aren’t important.
And sometimes we just need to ‘get out of our own way’ – set up a team to deliver and let them get on with it!
